Manual Modulating Control Valves
Operating Benefits
There are a wide variety of mining and industrial minerals applications where flows need to be balanced, restricted or reduced from time to time by operators. Usually these adjustments are of a temporary nature, or once set, are to be left in place for long periods of time often in very difficult service environments, Here, a manual valve with, if needed, a lock-out capability is an economical solution, and provides customers a multitude of options relating to the elastomer tube design best suited for their needs (see Elastomer Tube Profile Selection).
Dependable
Whether the valve is offered with a simple hand wheel, or more robust gear reducers for larger valve sizes and operating pressures, both offer much greater longevity than knife gate, butterfly, ball, and plug valves often “misused” for this type of operation.
When flow is modulated with a pinch valve, flows moves through in a more linear, laminar and less turbulent fashion, NOT directed against the valve body or blade causing accelerated wear of the valves just mentioned.
Typical applications for manual flow control valves include:
- Tank level control
- Pump back pressure
- Manual feed systems
- Temporary By-pass
