Air Actuated Modulating Control Valves
Operating Benefits
The aiRFlex® control valve offers the same superior operating benefits found in all aiRFlex® valves.
Dependable
The elastomer tube construction with flexible folds produces a stronger tube that makes it uniquely suitable as a modulating control valve, providing sufficient accuracy and repeatability for many process flows that do not require continuous fine-tuning and highly sensitive feedback.
Here, a proportional pressure controller receives a 4-20mA or digital control signal that regulates the flow and pressure of air supplied to the modulating control valve. As the air is introduced into the valve, between the valve body and the elastomer tube, increasing or decreasing air pressure causes the valve to close and open as required.
Versatile
The patented tube folds flex when air is introduced between the valve body and the tube to close the valve. This prevents the most frequent cause of failure of conventional air-actuated pinch valves, the over-stretching and stressing that occurs in “straight sleeves” (without flexible folds) subject to repeated cycling in on/off and modulating services.
Typical applications for automated flow control valves include:
- tank level control
- pH control
- density control
- Filter feed valves
- Industrial control valves of all types
- Water and wastewater control valves
